We’d been designing IKEA kitchens for a few years when a large, North American home improvement company asked us that question. IKEA is famously tight-lipped about their customers and sales.
And we realized, as IKEA kitchen designers, we knew a lot about IKEA kitchen customers. We were sitting on a goldmine! We just needed to organize the data coming in from the more than 300 kitchen designs we were completing per month.
Blue Box Kitchen Intelligence (BBKI) was born.
We’re a group of six database-loving and number-crunching IKEA kitchen data experts who gather information on all IKEA kitchen products from cabinets to appliances to faucets to lighting. Then we quantify everything about an IKEA kitchen from average size to prices, by age groups, gender and region, and present it to you in concise data reports.
IKEA has gained significant market share that only continues to grow.
